Saving Forest Elephants from extinction.
The African Forest Elephant Foundation (AFEF) is working to help ensure the longterm survival of this critically endangered species. Working with our partners in Nigeria, Central African Republic and the Republic of Guinea, we are using innovative conservation and community initiatives to help to protect and conserve the African forest elephant and its habitat.
Where We Work
The African Forest Elephant Foundation (AFEF) is dedicated to preserving and protecting the African elephant population, their habitats and ecosystems and the biodiversity of the region.
We are working with our partners in the Central African Republic (CAR), Nigeria, Congo, and Guinea, where the forest elephants are most threatened. We provide vital equipment for anti-poaching units, working with local communities and providing education and awareness initiative to ensure that local communities understand the importance of these animals and their habitats.
Help us to get 'Boots on the Ground'
AFEF is fundraising for the rangers and eco-guards that protect the Central African rainforests and the elephants that call it home.
AFEF’s first initiative is getting boots on the ground, literally. In our ‘Boots on the Ground’ project we have set ourselves a target to help 500 rangers and eco-guards across Central Africa who work tirelessly out in the field to protect forest elephants and their habitat. We aim to provide new high quality boots and five pairs of durable socks to 500 rangers across the Congo Basin.

We conduct research, create awareness, and implement conservation strategies that will ensure the survival of forest elephants.
